Christmas 2009 in DisneyLand...I mean Alamosa

Cole said one night at dinner down in Alamosa at Bob and Rita's that their house is better than Disney Land. As you can see from the pictures, you can see why a 5 year old might think that! (Most of my pictures I realized are of Levi, mostly because he doesn't move quite as much as the other 2!)

Battle in the garage took place with all the Nerf guns!

Surprise Trip

Brandon booked a mystery trip for us right before Christmas. All I knew is when we were leaving and what to pack! We went to La Jolla/San Diego and had a great time relaxing and eating In-N-Out 2 times! This was our first stop right after we landed!!!
View from the pool and below the view from our room.

Brandon's buddy Aaron lives in San Diego so he was a great golfing partner for B and a wonderful tour guide.

Above is a cool shopping area in Del Mar and below is the sunset right outside an awesome Mexican restaurant right on the beach called Las Olas.

Zoomed in a seemingly normal picture....
Not so when you are married to Brandon!

Miscellaneous

We sold our Jeep on Craiglist in 2 hours. The guy that bought it came the next day and paid full price cash! Woohoo!
We are not quite up to par with the Griswald Family!
Our new treadmill with a built in TV. It kind of makes running bearable.

The Man Has Vision

After a trip to Michael's where we saw beautiful bows on wreaths and trees, Brandon decided he could make those...and he did.  Is there anything he can't do?  While he made bows and set up our tree and garland, I filled glass jars and plates with Christmas decor.

Turkey Day

Kari and her cute nephew stopped by to take a few family photos for us, thanks Kar!
We are the proud owners of a sweet 2003 4-runner courtesy of Brandon's parents generosity after they bought a new car themselves!!!  Thanks Bob and Rita!!!

The man of the house!  Thanks mom and dad for a great Thanksgiving.  My waistline however doesn't thank you!  :)

Snow Storm & Football

The Carlucci boys made their annual trip to a Highlands Ranch game.  Cole talked my ear off the whole time and even asked me if they other team flew to this game!

Yeah!  Snow Storm=Snow Days=No School!
Boo!  I was already on break!
Yeah!  Brandon was home for 3 days of my break=Bonus time together!

Here was Brandon after he had to dust off the mound of snow that collected on our satellite dish!

(Random pic from a week or two before the snow storm.   My friend Denise and her kids came to one of B's games with me.  Check out the support on Hunter's t-shirt!)
By the way HRHS finished up 7-3...not bad for starting 7 sophomores.  Look out next year!

Look who came over!

Min Fei and Baylee came over a few weekends ago.  Min Fei and I got bored of watching High School Musical 3, so we had some fun on Photo Booth!

#?$!

While I was doing this....

the toilet on the main floor bathroom was OVERFLOWING all into the living room creating standing water that was 1/8 in. high.  Apparently I was SO FOCUSED on my fall decorating that I didn't notice until I went into the family room and wondered why my feet got wet...and true to all my mishaps, Brandon wasn't home.  Luckily, I got the water turned off and proceeded to use EVERY TOWEL we own to clean up the mess.  Currently I have the windows open and two fans blowing on the floor to prevent warping. (I hope).  Sure feels like fall at my house.

Good Ones

-After performing silly dances together as a class for a brain break, one of my spit -fire little girls says to me as we are going to sit back down, "I didn't think you had it in ya Mrs. Carlucci."

-My class just went on a community field trip and one of our stops was to visit a retirement community where one of my math volunteers lives.   I overheard this conversation while we were walking around between 2 of my little girls.  "When we are 30, we are so going to live here."

-Upon returning from the community trip the 2nd grade classes made posters with the pictures they took.  This was the caption under the photo from the stop at the retirement community.

Eisenhauer Cup

Brandon and his Aunt Beth coordinated the first annual Eisenhauer Cup.  The Eisenhauers can best be described as a competitive, loud, one-upper type of group.  Rules had to be clearly stated as to avoid fights...and even so there were a few!  :)
Rita's (b's mom) siblings are a hoot and we had a fun weekend.  At the one point I think we counted 42 people competing for the cup!  Here are pics from some of the events (out of order). Events included:  Ping pong, pool, pitch, bowling, 3 legged races, balloon toss, and horseshoes. There was even an opening ceremony and a parking attendant showing people where to park...he was even trying to charge $!

Unfortunately, Brandon came in 2nd to his Aunt Gretchen by 1 point.  Despite recounting all each event to me in great detail on each car ride home and calculating what points he needed in what events to secure the win...he lost.   Better luck next year.

Figuring out who is in the next heat for the 3 legged race.

Parking attendant.

She knew it from the start, she would win.

Aunt Beth had to wear gloves to handle the Eisenhauer Cup.
Her team won the Family Cup...they brought the most people to compete!

Each event had a bracket, designed by B.

Pitch tourney.

Her acceptance speech gave shout out to her 7 older siblings who never let her play and beat up on her for all her life.  Well earned.  Well earned.
