Window Mistreatment

From my newly added blog link on the right, The Nester, and from inspiration from Amy and bible study friend, Nicole, I tried my very first window mistreatment with a leftover piece of fabric, a glue gun, ribbon, and thumbtacks.  No sewing involved.

I made a finished edge with a hot glue gun.

Tacked  up the finished project in our bathroom (after all we are the only ones in there so good starting place for first project).  

We are painting soon in our bathroom, but I am thinking about spray painting the can black...what do you think?

Last but not least, check out the homemade pillows.  The front one was made by my mom while I watched perfection in action.  The back pillows were made by Amy while I laughed and encouraged.  I did hand sew both of the ends up....so I can say I helped.
